STEPHANIE J. BLOCK In Concert
New Players Theatre, Sunday 28th February 2010
Broadway leading lady
Stephanie J. Block
performed her very own unique Concert in London, featuring a selection of songs from her debut album ‘This Place I Know’ and songs highlighting her amazing career so far. Ms Block was joined by Musical Director
Simon Beck
, together with a four-piece band and special West End guests
Annalene Beechey
and
Oliver Tompsett
,plus her Broadway ‘Pirate Queen’ co-star
Hadley Fraser.
"Block or Blockbuster … her knowing bright-eyed personality and sensational vocal delivery were a complete knock-out. This is one of those theatre voices that can do it all - sing sweet and low, belt big and brash, and fold in that soprano top where the show tune demands it…."
Edward Seckerson, The Independent
"It was clear to see that we weren't just witnessing a wonderful singer effortlessly belting out some of her favourite tunes; we were in the presence of a high-class musical theatre actress, who removed the notion that we were merely at a concert and transported us from number to number as if each one were a standalone story."

JUST ME & THEM: The Music of Scott Alan
Leicester Square Theatre, Sunday 11th October 2009
American composer
Scott Alan
made his official London engagement debut in two sell out concerts. Showcasing his acclaimed songbook were special Broadway guest
Stephanie J. Block
and West End stars
John Barr, David Bedella, Annalene Beechey, Mark Evans, Anna Francolini, Alison Jiear, Ramin Karimloo, Rebecca Lock, Patina Miller, Frances Ruffelle, Caroline Sheen and Oliver Tompsett
, with Musical Supervision by
Peter White.
"A vocally stunning cast ... the current cream of the West End ... the phenomenal Stephanie J. Block ... Scott Alan himself proved that his talents expand far beyond composing, treating the audience to his own vocal talents with the honesty and emotional range that only the original composer could truly bring to them ... Perhaps it was producer Simon Greiff's attention to detail that made the concert appear so flawless; the simple, yet beautiful staging, the addition to the orchestrations of a talented string trio and what appeared to be a thoroughly rehearsed cast. The overall impression of the evening was that an awful lot of effort and hard work had gone into creating it and it had certainly paid off."
